Donetsk, Aug 7 – DAN. Kiev must carry out an investigation into recent ceasefire violations and punish the responsible, said DPR acting Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova.
"We hope that the Ukrainian side shall soon fulfill its obligations in accordance with the adopted package of additional measures providing for mandatory investigations and accountability of culprits with the OSCE SMM reporting it."
Nikonorova said no investigation followed the Ukrainian drone attack on August 1, shelling of Gorlovka on August 5 when a school, residential houses came under fire, and an incident on August 7 when a DPR troop was injured outside Yasinovataya.
Besides, Kiev blamed the DPR for deaths of four members of Ukrainian armed formations, while the DPR investigation revealed that Republican troops were not involved. The report was filed with the OSCE SMM.
"After these harsh and even intimidatory statements in mass media, Kiev initiated an extraordinary convocation of a security subgroup videoconference. We don't know what is behind such a rush."
An indefinite ceasefire came into force in Donbass in the night of July 20-21 as it has been agreed to by the Contact Group in Minsk.
The new ceasefire agreement includes provisions for disciplinary measures against perpetrators, ban on offensive, sabotage and reconnaissance operations, ban on any fire including sniper fire, deployment of heavy weapons to populated areas and, first of all, civilian infrastructural objects such as schools, kindergartens, hospitals and public places. *ot
