Donetsk, Dec 31 – DAN. DPR Air Defence downed 22 Ukrainian UAVs this year, the deputy People's Militia chief-of-staff Eduard Basurin said.
"Air Defence units detected and brought down 22 enemy's UAVs used to drop explosives on populated areas and People's Militia positions, and to adjust fire on residential areas," he said.
The Ukrainian army has intensified UAV operations recently. In December alone, they carried out two successful attacks on the Republic. One of the UAVs was brought down outside Oktyabrskaya Mine.
The employment of unmanned aerial vehicles is banned under Article 7 of the Minsk Agreements and the Additional Measures to Reinforce the Ceasefire. *ot
