Donetsk, Mar 26 – DAN. DPR has dismissed Kiev's claims that the People's Republic shelled Ukrainian positions killing four service members.
"The JFO HQ reported four service members killed, two injured as a result of mortar fire coming from the DPR side in the vicinity of Shumy. We officially inform that our units in the area performed no firing tasks," the DPR People's Militia said in a statement.
Ukrainian 10th brigade is deployed to Shumy; today Shakhta 6/7 outside Gorlovka was targeted from that direction.
"People's Militia did not succumb to it and did not open retaliatory fire."
The report added that two explosions were heard at the Ukrainian positions outside Shumy at around 5 p.m. with a short interval in between. Ukrainian troops addressed their command over radio to request evacuation of injured and to report victims.
The Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire were signed at the Contact Group meeting on July 22 to reinforce and control the indefinite ceasefire in effect since July 21, 2019, the latest in the series of more than 20 reconfirmation and announcements of the “silence regime”. The package came into effect on July 27. *ot
