Donetsk, Oct 26 – DAN. Ukrainian forces shelled the frontline areas of the Donetsk People’s Republic 278 times in the past 24 hours, a DPR senior defense official said.
“The situation in DPR remains tense. Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire 278 times, including 182 times with artillery and mortars,” Operations Command deputy commander Colonel Eduard Basurin told a news briefing at the Donetsk News Agency.
According to the Command, Ukrainian forces targeted Zaitsevo, Ozeryanovka, Zheleznaya Balka in Gorlovka outskirts, Yasinovataya and Spartak township, Aleksandrovka, Trudovskiye villages west of Donetsk, Sakhanka in DPR south.
Earlier in the day a military source said that Ukrainian forces shelled Elenovka village area south of Donetsk with heavy weapons overnight. Western Donetsk outskirts and Yasinovataya area were also shelled, two women were wounded.
