Donetsk, Dec 25 – DAN. Ukrainian army units violated the ‘school ceasefire’ almost 235 times over the past week firing 677 mortar and artillery rounds, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Friday.
“Overall, 235 ceasefire violations by Ukrainian forces have been recorded,” Basurin said. “The enemy fired 677 artillery, tank guns and 120mm, 82mm mortar rounds.
The enemy targeted 23 frontline townships in DPR.
The ‘school ceasefire’ has been agreed to by the sides as the new academic year is to begin in Donbass on September 1. It came into force at midnight August 25. It hasn’t proved to be durable, thought in the first hours the security situation along the contact line stabilized. *ot
