Donetsk, Oct 13 – DAN. Ukrainian army units violated the ‘school ceasefire’ almost 240 times over the past week firing 718 mortar and artillery rounds, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Friday.
“Overall, 240 ceasefire violations by Ukrainian forces have been recorded,” Basurin said. “The enemy fired 718 artillery, tank guns and 120mm, 82mm mortar rounds".
The enemy targeted 25 frontline townships in DPR, damaging 13 households.
Overall, 35 violations of the ceasefire by Kiev forces have been recorded over the last 24 hours.
The sides have agreed to the ‘school ceasefire’ as the new academic year is to begin in Donbass on September 1. It came into force at midnight August 25. It has not proved to be durable, thought in the first hours the security situation along the contact line stabilized. *ot
