Donetsk, Sep 15 – DAN. Ukrainian army units violated the ‘school ceasefire’ over 260 times over the past week firing 796 mortar and artillery rounds, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Friday.
“Overall, 261 ceasefire violations by Ukrainian forces have been recorded,” Basurin said. “The enemy fired 796 artillery, tank guns and 120mm, 82mm mortar rounds.
The enemy targeted 24 frontline townships in DPR, destroying eight households in four of them.
Kiev forces violated the ceasefire 37 times over the last 24 hours.
The ‘school ceasefire’ has been agreed to by the sides as the new academic year is to begin in Donbass on September 1. It came into force at midnight August 25. It hasn’t proved to be durable, thought in the first hours the security situation along the contact line stabilized. *ot
