Donetsk, Nov 24 – DAN. Ukrainian army strikes at Donetsk People’s Republic frontline areas increased two-fold in the past 24 hours leaving a civilian injured, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin told a news briefing at Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.

“The situation in DPR remains tense. Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian gunmen violated the ceasefire 1,161 times, firing 91 152mm and 122mm artillery rounds, 234 120mm and 82 mm mortar rounds and six tank gun rounds,” Basurin said.

Ukrainian forces shelled Trudovskiye, Aleksandrovka and Staromikhailovka villages west of Donetsk, Dokuchayevsk, Vasilyevka, Vesyoloye and Krutaya Blaka villages in Yasinovatskiy district and Sakhanka and Leninskoye villages in DPR south.

“A 58-year-old resident of Krutaya Balka (a village outside Yasinovataya – eds DAN) was injured in Ukrainian shelling,” the deputy commander said.

Earlier on Thursday, a DPR defence source said Ukrainian forces had fired more than 300 artillery and mortar rounds at DPR territory since Wednesday evening.
