Donetsk, Jun 21 — DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic State Defense Committee (GKO) has provided an opportunity to foreign nationals to join Interior Ministry troops under contract. GKO Resolution No 114 was published on the official website of DPR Head Denis Pushilin on Monday evening.
DPR residents can be conscripted or mobilized to Interior Ministry troops or join on a contract while foreign nationals can only serve under contract.
The resolution spells out the specifics of interior troops service during martial law and wartime.
The first and new service contract is made for the period of one year. The contact which expires in the mobilization period is extended until the end of mobilization under the same terms.
Mobilized personnel can be discharged in line with the DPR law on military duty and military service dated February 13, 2015 or by decision of the interior minister. The minister has the right to discharge the serviceman who have attained the maximum service age even despite serving under contract, and appoint persons to military posts without complying with legal limitations.
The resolution was signed by GKO chairman, DPR Head Denis Pushilin on June 6, 2022 and came into force on the same date.
Under the DPR law on military duty and military service, residents can serve in the armed forces, interior troops, military engineer and road constructions units under government executive bodies, the State Security Ministry etc, while foreigners can serve in the armed forces or military formations.*jk
