Donetsk, Dec 1 – DAN. Fighting caused a power outage at the Donetsk water treatment plant on Tuesday morning disrupting water supply to several Donbass towns, state water company Voda Donbassa director Oleg Mokriy told Donetsk News Agency.

“Today, at 10:40 a.m., the Donetsk water treatment plant was left without electricity as a result of fighting,” Mokriy said. “Water is not supplied to Avdeyevka, parts of Donetsk and Yasinovataya and Verkhnetoretskoye, Vasilyevka and Spartak villages.”

The water supply situation will deteriorate if the power outage lasts for more than three hours. “Owing to weather conditions and lack of power we’ll have to drain the reservoirs which will completely cut off water supply to Avdeyevka, Yasinovataya and its outskirts and parts of Donetsks,” he said.

The Donetsk water treatment plant is located between Ukraine-controlled Avdeyevka and Yasinovataya. It was repeatedly shelled in the course of the conflict remaining a trouble spot on the contact line.
