Donetsk, Dec 10 - DAN. A resident of Donetsk has been sentenced to five years in prison for participation in a terrorist group, the Donetsk People’s Republic Prosecutor General’s Office press service reported on Tuesday.

The person fulfilled the assignments detrimental to the DPR security, given by an agent of the Security Service of Ukraine from September to December 2017. He was motivated by personal interest in unhindered passage through the Alexandrovka crossing point for private passenger transportation and delivery of parcels from Ukraine.

“Donetsk’s Budyonovskiy district court found him guilty of the crime covered by DPR Criminal Code Article 233, Part 2 (participation in a terrorist group – eds Donetsk News Agency) and sentenced to five years in a general regime penal colony." The verdict, passed on October 30, 2019, has come into force, the PGO press service added.

The case was investigated by the DPR Interior Ministry’s department for combating organised crime.*jk
