Donetsk, Nov 6 – DAN. Ukrainian forces opened mortar fire on the area of the Donetsk Water Treatment Plant (DFS) prompting staff evacuation, the DPR Mission to the JCCC said.
"In the morning, Ukrainian armed formations opened fire originating from the direction of Avdeyevka engaging Mineralnoye and Kashtanovoye using 82 mm mortars. The DFS staff took to shelter," the report reads.
The DPR Mission requested additional security guarantees from the Ukrainian side to establish a stable ceasefire.
The DFS area is being shelling for a second day running. On Thursday, fire from Ukrainian-controlled Avdeyevka targeted a bus with staff on board.
DFS supplies water to both sides of the contact line: DPR-controlled Donetsk, Yasinovataya, the Vasilyevka and Spartak villages, parts of Makeyevka, and Kiev-controlled Avdeyevka, Krasnogorovka and the Verkhnetoretskoye villages. The overall number of its customers exceeds 400 thousand. *ot
