Donetsk, Jul 28 — DAN. Russian coalition forces have liberated the settlement of Novoluganskoye on the Gorlovka axis, the Donetsk People’s Republic Territorial Defense Headquarters reported on Thursday.
“As of July 28, 2022, DPR and LPR troops supported by Russian forces have liberated 256 settlements including Novoluganskoye, ” the HQ said.
Repots on July 25 said that the settlement was fully blocked.
Novoluganskoye is located on the west shore of the Uglegorsk thermal power plant water reservoir some 20-odd kilometers north of Gorlovka. It is part of the Svetlodarsk urban community. The taking of Novoluganskoye will help the Russian coalition break through Ukrainian defense lines on the Gorlovka axis and push back the frontline from the town outskirts, which is important for the safety of civilians. *jk
