Donetsk, Mar 23 – DAN. The DPR forces have downed a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle used to adjust fire on Sakhanka township in Novoazovsk district, said DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin.

"For two days Ukrainian bandits were shelling Sakhanka residential areas with 120mm mortar rounds. The round-the-clock fire was adjusted by a Fly Eye drone, but our soldiers brought it down."

After the UAV was shot down, the fire ceased.

According to the Article 7 of the Minsk Memorandum dated 19 September 2014, the use of combat aircrafts and UAVs along the contact line is banned in the 30km-wide zone of ceasefire, with the only exception made for the OSCE SMM drones. Nevertheless, Ukrainian forces regularly breach the provision, usually to carry out aerial reconnaissance and fire adjustment.*ot
