Donetsk, Apr 3 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic servicemen downed a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle on a reconnaissance mission over the Sakhanka village in the Republic’s southern Novoazovskiy district, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Tuesday.
“Yesterday evening, our air defence units shot down another enemy UAV which was on a reconnaissance mission in the Sakhanka area (southern DPR - eds Donetsk News Agency),” Basurin said.
The equipment belongs to Azov gunmen, he said adding that it featured Nazi Germany symbols.
Earlier reports said the Ukrainian military used UAVs for reconnaissance along the contact line in Donbass.
Employing combat aviation and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in 30km-wide zone along the line of contact is banned under Article 7 of Minsk Memorandum, with the exception to OSCE SMM UAVs. Contrary to the agreement, Ukrainian forces regularly use UAVs for aerial reconnaissance and fire adjustment.*jk
