Donetsk, Dec 14 — DAN. All Donetsk People’s Republic servicemen who have returned from Ukrainian captivity have health problems caused by battery or improper medical aid, DPR ombudsperson Darya Morozova told the Donetsk News Agency on Wednesday.
“Absolutely all freed fighters have health problems, ” Morozova said. “Regrettably, the guys who were exchanged in November and December are no exception. They suffered cruel battery and complications that developed after shrapnel and gunshot wounds due a lack of proper medical assistance.”
Some servicemen are in very serious condition and cannot be transported, so they undergo treatment in other Russian regions. All of them take medical tests and receive full treatment. After recovery and rehabilitation which also helps them restore their mental health, the fighters, if fit for service, return to their military units, the ombudsperson said.
Morozova earlier said that 135 DPR fighters have returned from Ukrainian captivity since the start of the special military operation, mostly the servicemen who were called up during the mobilization campaign.*jk
