Donetsk, Mar 30 – DAN. The DPR has conducted over 120 cultural events within the framework of the Humanitarian program аfor reunification of Donbass people, the acting minister of culture Mikhail Zheltyakov said at a press briefing at the Donetsk News Agency.
“Cultural institutions and the ministry were actively engaged in the humanitarian program for reunification of Donbass people; since the beginning of the year 124 events have been organized and 11 permanent campaign are in place,” he said.
He named the Competition of Folk Holidays Scripts, Library LitGAME, Donbass: Past and Present among the key events. The number of participants reached 2,600 people.
Zheltyakov said the ministry has organized the total of 160 cultural events attended by 120-plus thousand people in the first quarter of 2018.
The Donetsk People’s Republic has been implementing the humanitarian programme since 17 February 2017. It provides for medical and financial assistance, quotas for higher and vocational education for residents of Kiev-held areas, and their involvement, together with the DPR population in sport and cultural events and measures aimed to preserve spiritual and cultural values in the region.*ot
