Donetsk, Oct 3 - DAN. Some 65,000 tourists of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and the Russian Federation visited Sedovo village, DPR’s key resort on the shore of the Sea of Azov during the beach season, village administration head Pavel Svyatovets told Donetsk news Agency on Tuesday.
“Some 65,000 people holidayed in Sedovo in early June through late September, not just DPR residents but also holiday makers from LPR and Russia,” Svyatovets said. “About ten percent came from Russia and some 30 percent from the Lugansk People’s Republic.”
Twenty holiday and recreation centres operated in the village. The most popular were “Azov,” “Burevestnik,” “Gelios,” “Kholodok,” “Alye Parusa” and “Kristall.” People also rented rooms from private landlords. Food prices averaged the rates across DPR.
“Prices of social package foodstuffs such as bread, milk, butter and groats kept at the government-fixed level. “I believe the holiday-makers had a good time; next year, after we replace the water supply system whose wear and tear reaches almost 70 percent, we’ll have even more holiday-makers,” Svyatovets said.
A family pays approximately 10,000 roubles ($173) for a weeklong stay in Sedovo.
Local authorities said they had recorded more than 100,000 arrivals last year. DPR travel agencies reported a decrease in the number of holiday-markers as residents preferred to go to resorts in Crimea and Krasnodar Territory in summer time.*jk
