Donetsk, Aug 27 - DAN. Republic of South Ossetia President Anatoly Bibilov awarded the Order of Honour to Donetsk People’s Republic Head Alexander Zakharchenko for his contribution to promoting friendly relations between peoples, the DPR Head administration press service reported on Monday.
“The Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic has been awarded the Order of Honour for his contribution to promoting friendship between peoples,” the press service said.
Zakharchenko thanked the South Ossetian leadership for the decoration and assistance in the DPR establishment.
“I’m happy and proud to receive this award on this day. Indeed, what South Ossetia is doing for us cannot be overestimated. The Ossetians were the first to recognise the DPR and LPR independence and we’ll never forget what you’ve done for us,” he said. “There are blood brothers and there are brothers in spirit, and spiritual brotherhood is often stronger. You and we are brothers in spirit. Dear Ossetians, believe me, this holiday is as sacred to us as it is to you.”
On August 26, the DPR delegation took part the celebrations in Tskhinval marking the 10th anniversary of recognition of South Ossetia’s independence by the Russian Federation.*jk
