Donetsk, Mar 29 – DAN. OSCE member countries have not yet reached a consensus on the extension of the SMM mandate, which expires in two days, the SMM press and public information department head Dragana Nikolic-Solomon told DAN. 

"The SMM mandate has to be extended on March 31; the OSCE member countries have not yet reached the consensus on this matter. We hope that the efforts aimed at reaching the consensus will prove successful," she said.

The OSCE is the largest regional organization dealing with security issues. It joins 57 countries in Europe, Central Asia and North America. The OSCE chairmanship is assumed at yearly intervals by one participating State. In 2021, Sweden presides over the organization.

On 21 March 2014, OSCE deployed its Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine. The mission comprises approximately 1,000 personnel, its offices are located in Kiev, Donetsk and Lugansk. *ot
