Donetsk, Nov 24 – DAN. – LPR Head Igor Plotnitskiy announced his resignation Friday due to health issues.

"Today Igor Plotnitsky has resigned due to health issues, emanating from his injuries sustained during the war and concussion consequences. In accordance with his decision I assume the position of acting Head of Lugansk People's Republic and will maintain it until the election," said Leonid Pasechnik in his statement published by the LuganskMediaCenter.

Pasechnik announced his commitment to the Minsk Agreements, saying the Republic shall consistently implement obligations assumed under the Minsk Agreements.

"Igor Venediktovich made a great contribution to the peace settlement. He is one of the signatories to the Minsk Agreements, as of today he is appointed the authorized representative of the Lugansk People's Republic for the implementation of the Minsk Agreements," the LPR acting Head said.

The chairman of the LPR People's Council Vladimir Degtyarenko said the parliament had received Plotnitskiy's request to accept his resignation and to appoint Pasechnik acting head of state.

"I have no doubts that the People's Council will support Leonid Pasechnik c candidature for the position of the LPR acting Head. All appropriate regulatory acts will be amended without delay," he said.

The chairman of the LPR Council of Ministers Sergey Kozlov said he reported to the LPR acting head Leonid Pasechnik on the work of the Council of Ministers and received instructions from him. The Council of Ministers continues to work as normal.

Igor Plotnitskiy assumed the position of the LPR head in 2014. *ot
