Donetsk, Jul 13 - DAN. Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross Mission to Ukraine Florence Gilette has arrived in Donetsk on a visit, the ICRC Donetsk Office told the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.

“Florence Gilette arrived in Donetsk,” an ICRC official said. “She plans to meet with DPR leader Denis Pushilin, ICRC Donetsk Office personnel and humanitarian aid recipients.”

Gilette last visited Donetsk in August 2020. Back then, she visited DPR frontline areas to pass relief supplies to the needy.

Florence Gilette joined the ICRC in 2006. She worked in Darfur (Sudan), the Philippines, Kenya, Georgia, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. She was deputy operations coordinator for East Africa and headed the ICRC Mission to Iran. On March 3, 2019, she replaced Alan Ashliman as head of the ICRC delegation to Ukraine. A prestigious Paris business school graduate (1992), Florence Gilette holds a master’s degree in management.*jk
