Donetsk, Jun 29 — DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic ombudswoman Darya Morozova has held online talks on Tuesday with head of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine Matilda Bogner, the ombudswoman’s office reported.

“The ombudswoman informed her about unceasing strikes at peaceful towns of the Republic by Ukrainian armed formations and facts of Ukraine’s war crimes exposed during the work in liberated areas, ” the report said. “Separately, Darya Morozova pointed out the provocation carried out by Ukrainian armed formations at the Mariupol Drama Theatre.

Morozova also drew Bogner’s attention to the critical situation with the rights of prisoners-of-war in Ukraine urging measures to prevent the tortures and humiliation of detained special operation participants.

“The head of the UN human rights monitoring mission in Ukraine thanked the DPR ombudswoman for the information provided in the course of the meeting. The parties said that they were open to further cooperation, ” Morozova’s office said.

Earlier, Morozova called upon the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN to take urgent measures to stop the tortures of POWs in Ukraine.*jk
