Donetsk, Aug 1 - DAN. International observers can contribute to securing peace in Donbass by putting pressure on Ukraine, Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia spokesman Daniil Bezsonov said on Thursday.
Earlier reports said that the Kiev army had opened mortar fire at the south of the Donetsk People’s Republic. Two 120mm mortar rounds were fired.
“We demand that Ukraine stop provocations aimed at escalating the conflict, and ask international observers to show insistence in making Ukraine observe the effective accords,” Bezsonov said.
He said that People’s Militia units fully observed the truce.
A new comprehensive, lasting and indefinite ceasefire came into force in Donbass at 00:01 on July 21. It was agreed at the the Contact Group talks in Minsk on July 17. *jk
