Donetsk, Feb 14 - DAN. Trade turnover between the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics reached nine billion rubles last year, acting DPR Industry and Trade Minister Alexey Granovskiy told Donetsk News Agency on Wednesday.
“In 2017, two-way trade was worth nine billion rubles; it increased two-fold from the previous year, and eight-fold from 2015,” Granovskiy said.
Mechanical engineering products account for the largest share of bilateral trade (32 percent) followed by chemical industry (22 percent), food industry (19 percent) and metallurgy (7 percent), according to the minister.
On 9 February, DPR and LPR representative met in Donetsk to discuss a “road map” for cooperation between industrial and trade companies of the two Republics. A memorandum of cooperation in industry and trade is due to be signed in the near future.*jk
