Donetsk, Mar 11 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic Head, DPR supreme commander-in-chief Denis Pushilin visited People’s Militia 11th Guard Separate Yenakiyevo-Dunai Motorised Regiment, the DPR leader’s official website reported.
“Tensions have mounted on the contact line due to external and internal factors in the recent time,” Pushilin said addressing the militiamen. “External factors include President Biden (incumbent U.S. president since January 20, 2021 - eds Donetsk News Agency) who had a direct bearing on “Maidan” and government overthrow in Ukraine. Internal reasons are the difficult economic situation and the political crisis (in Ukraine - eds DAN).”
The attempt to resolve the Donbass conflict by force will be tantamount to suicide for Ukraine, Pushilin said.
“Now we can say that the DPR has a full-fledged army, not the separate groups of militiamen we had in 2014. We have our families and homes to defend, so we have nowhere to leave for. Our military training and drills and exercises we have delivered a serious resource to us,” Pushilin said.
The state must do everything for the militiamen, so that everyday issues distract them as little as possible in the difficult periods of mounting tensions, he added.
The DPR Head venerated the memory of the Republic's defenders by laying flowers to the monument to the heroes who had fallen for the Donbass freedom and independence.
On Wednesday, the DPR militia said that Ukrainian army units had considerably increased the intensity of fire at DPR territory actively using mortars. A DPR militiaman was reportedly killed and his colleague was wounded in shelling by Kiev forces.*jk
