Donetsk, Nov 15 – DAN. The meetings of Russian Presidential Aide Vladislav Surkov and US Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker might stir the Minsk talks, said DPR envoy to the negotiations Denis Pushilin.
"The frequency of meetings is apparently not going down. We are still looking forward the US-Russia format to assist us in the Minsk talks. Nevertheless, we would like to remind, once again, that the conflict cannot be settled without a political basis, by looking only into security issues, no matter if the UN contingent is present or not," he said.
DPR top negotiator added that DPR position on a UN peacekeeping mission in Donbass remains unchanged, and the Republic fully supports the Russian draft resolution.
"As to the numerous paragraphs voiced by the US representative, I think the majority of those turned out to be inappropriate as they echo Ukraine's highly promoted wishes concerning peacekeepers, seeking a proxy victory over Donbass," Pushilin said.
Mr. Surkov and Mr. Volker had a meeting in Belgrade on November 13. After the meeting Surkov said Russia agreed with three out 29 US provisions related to a proposed U.N. Security Council resolution to establish a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine. *ot
