Donetsk, Jul 16 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic militiamen found the body of the second commando as they were inspecting the Gorlovka area where Ukrainian servicemen tripped mines earlier this week, DPR People’s Militia deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Thursday.

“To establish the true causes of the incident, our specialists conducted another inspection of the scene of the explosion finding the body of a second commando,” Basurin said.

The commando had a passport of Estonian citizen, expensive outfit and NATO-produced weapons which are used by special task forces and commando units. DPR militiamen retrieved from the scene an AKS-74 No 6428029 assault rifle, a MICH/ACH-CCO (FAST) lightweight helmet, a US-made AN/PVS-14 night vision device, ESS Crossbow ballistic glasses, a tactical torchlight with infrared light option and a Contour ROAM Hands-free action camera which is to record commando operations.

“The Alfa special task force unit officers killed in December 2019 during the attempt to carry out sabotage in the Republic, had similar equipment which makes it clear that the killed serviceman belonged to commando forces,” Basurin said.

Earlier reports said that a group of commandos advanced towards DPR positions in the Zaitsevo settlement (northern Gorlovka) on July 13. They walked into a minefield. One of the fatalities was identified as Sean Fuller, a US-based supporter of far-right views. His body was handed over to Ukraine on Wednesday.  The DPR provided security guarantees for the search of the bodies of other Ukrainian servicemen reported by Kiev as missing.*jk*pp
