Donetsk, Apr 7 - DAN. Donetsk recommends Kiev to begin to develop an effective prisoner exchange mechanism, Donetsk People’s Republic ombudswoman Darya Morozova said on Thursday.
“The rights of captured members of Ukrainian armed formations are observed strictly in line with III Geneva Convention. They are provided with food, clothes, hygiene products and medical aid. All the necessary measures to ensure their security have been taken. If Ukrainian government representatives are truly interested in their fate, I recommend to stop insinuations and start developing an effective exchange mechanism,” Morozova said.
The ombudswoman office told the Donetsk News Agency that the issue at hand is the exchange of prisoners between the DPR and Ukraine. The last prisoner swap took place in April 2020. The DPR handed over nine people to Ukraine and got ten.*jk
