Donetsk, Sep 21 — DAN. Ukrainian armed formations have lost more than 100,000 people in dead or wounded in fighting since February, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said on Wednesday.

“Initially, the Ukrainian army had some 201,000 -202,000 people; their losses have reached over 100,000 since, ” Shoigu told Russia 24 news channel. “As many as 61,207 were killed and 49,368 were wounded; these are quite significant losses.”

Russia began a special military operation aimed at the demilitarization and de-nazification of Ukraine on February 24. As of today, the Russian army and DPR and LPR militia units have fully liberated the Lugansk People’s Republic and a large part of the Kherson  and Zaporozhye regions. Fighting is ongoing in the Donetsk People’s Republic.*jk
