DPR says Kiev ignores requests for ceasefire through coordination mechanism

Donetsk, Apr 16 – DAN. Ukrainian side has ignored all the DPR requests to reinstall peace through the coordination mechanism, the DPR mission to the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) said.

"Ukrainian side in the JCCC ignored all our requests for ceasefire regime by means of employing the coordination mechanism," the report reads.

DPR representatives counted four shelling incidents in the past 24 hours; Kiev forces fired 18 mortar rounds of 82 mm caliber and grenade launcher rounds targeting Donetsk, Vesyoloye, Shakhta 6/7, Leninskoye.

In the previous reporting period DPR reported five violations perpetrated by the Ukrainian side.

The Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire were signed at the Contact Group meeting on July 22 to reinforce and control the indefinite ceasefire in effect since July 21, 2019, the latest in the series of more than 20 reconfirmation and announcements of the “silence regime”.
