Donetsk, Aug 9 – DAN. Many bodies recovered from mass graves in Donbass in the areas where Ukrainian forces were positioned, bear signs of torture and violent deaths, the DPR Ombudswoman Daria Morozova said.
"Many recovered bodies bear signs of violent deaths and torture," Morozova said.
"I personally witnessed the exhumation from the Kommunar mine No.22 burial site after the territory was liberated from the Ukrainian national guard and the Aidar batallion. In one of the graves a murdered pregnant woman and a murdered adolescent were found."
Morozova said that these cases are recorded in the reports of international organizations.
DPR says 354 of its residents are listed as missing, the Republic’s Ombudswoman said.
Nearly 130 burial sites of missing persons have been found in the DPR since 2014, remains of 253 persons have been retrieved.
More than 5,000 people in the DPR have been killed in the conflict, including 91 children. More than 8,000 sustained injuries, 1,600-plus have become disabled. *ot
