Donetsk, May 22 – DAN. The Voda Donbassa water company has received a notification saying that its facilities will be disconnected from power supply on May 23.
The company's press service said that "DTEK PES-Energougol privately owned company has notified Voda Donbassa that it shall stop power supply of filtration stations and pumping stations of the Severskiy Donets – Donbass channel on May 23, while the infrastructure provides water to 1.5 million people in DPR and Kiev-controlled territory."
The similar situation was reported in March, when Voda Donbassа debt to power suppliers reached critical UAH 1 billion (USD 38 mln). The power down of the Voda Donbassa company might result in an ecological disaster. In March the Ukrainian government decided to prolong open-ended contracts of Ukrenergo with Voda Donbassa until the water company finds another power supplier. *ot
