Donetsk, Jun 1 – DAN. Ukrainian army has opened fire on Donetsk water treatment plant (DFS) threatening shift turnover at the water facility, said DPR representative at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) Ruslan Yakubov.
"The Ukrainian side is shelling the DFS area for three days running, hindering shifts turnover at the facility. The rotation of the shifts has been compromised again."
DPR mine clearance teams were unable to access the road to the DFS because of the shelling, while the OSCE SMM refused to monitor the situation.
"The previous shift is still working at the station" Yakubov said.
Earlier reports said that the enemy targeted an OSCE SMM patrol outside the Donetsk water treatment plant.
The DFS supplies water to both sides of the contact line: DPR-controlled Donetsk, Yasinovataya, the Vasilyevka and Spartak villages, parts of Makeyevka, and Kiev-controlled Avdeyevka, Krasnogorovka and the Verkhnetoretskoye villages. The overall number of its customers exceeds 400 thousand. *ot
