Donetsk, Aug 23 – DAN. About fifty Ukrainian servicemen have died from poisoning with inferior quality alcohol over the past ten days, Donetsk People’s Republic Operations command spokesman Daniil Bezsonov said on Thursday.
“In the past ten days, 64 people have died due to various causes; of those 48 died after drinking tainted alcohol,” Bezsonov said.
The worst situation is in 56th Motorised Infantry Brigade where 24 servicemen died over the designated period. Problems were reported in 36th Marines Brigade, 128th Mountain Assault Brigade, 28th, 92nd and 72nd Mechanised Brigades and 58th Motorised Infantry Brigade.
Earlier reports said that the Joint Forces Operation command decided to introduce a dry law among servicemen to combat alcohol abuse.*jk
