Donetsk, Dec 20 – DAN. More than 10,000 people rallied in central Donetsk on Solidarity Day on Thursday.

Acting head of Donetsk administration Aleksei Kulemzin, Donetsk Republic movement Central Executive Committee first deputy head Andrey Kramar and Trade Unions Federation chairman Maksim Parshin attended the event.

“We number thousands today, not 50 or 100. We’ve come to tell again that we don’t want the war which was unleashed in our land and which claims lives,” Kulemzin said. “We identify with this idea.”

The chairman of the Trade Unions Federation noted the unity of people’s views and convictions. “We have been able to reach out to the needy. The unions from all sectors came out today to draw attention to Kiev’s non-fulfilment of Minsk agreements and its Donbass policy,” Parshin said.

Prior to the rally, some 5,000 people marched through city streets. Rally organizers said a concert would follow the officials’ speeches. *jk
