Donetsk, Feb 28 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic Public Chamber will help build partnership relations between government bodies representatives and public activists, which is a DPR development priority, chairman of the DPR parliament committee on civil and arbitration legislation Andrey Bayevskiy told the Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.
“Forming partnership relations between the authorities and the society is a priority facing the Republic’s leadership,” Bayevskiy said. “In this connection, the establishment of the Public Chamber is a logical stage in our state development.”
He added that the new consultative and advisory body would help protect citizens’ rights and freedoms as the government adopted and pursued its policies.
On February 20, DPR Head Denis Pushilin said the Republic was setting up the Public Chamber. It will be vested with certain powers to enable effective and quick solution of the Republic’s problems though dialogue between the government and the population. The Chamber will have 51 members; the head of state, local self-rule bodies and social movements will nominate 17 representatives each.*jk
