Donetsk, Dec 29 – DAN. POW exchange between Ukraine and the Republics has begun at the Mayorskoye checkpoint, TASS news agency said.
Convoys from DPR and LPR arrived today at the exchange location at around 10.30 a.m.
The swap is expected to take place today at the Mayorskoye checkpoint as DPR and LPR are ready to hand over 55 people in exchange for 87 Republics' supporters held by Ukraine. Nevertheless, the number is subject to change as previously some people on exchange lists refused the transfer during the swap process.
The POW swap is one of the key articles of the Minsk Agreements. The commitment to the "all for all" exchange has been reconfirmed at the recent Normandy Four summit by the sides of the conflict. *ot
