Donetsk, Jul 21 — DAN. More than 150,000 Donetsk People’s Republic residents draw pensions under Russian norms, the press service of Russia’s Social Fund reported on Friday.
“Pension review procedures under Russian law have been completed for more than 150,000 pensioners since March 1, 2023, ” the Social Fund said.
Earlier reports said that Russian pensions had been granted to more than 400,000 people in the new territories and monthly allowances to more than 100,000.
On February 17, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a federal law on pensions in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republic and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. The law launched the transition to the Russian pension system starting March 1. The persons entitled to pension review are women and men who have reached the retirement age of 58 and 63, respectively, and have Russian passport with residence registration.*jk
