Donetsk, Aug 11 - DAN. More than 140 people entered the Donetsk People’s Republic through the humanitarian corridor on the contact line in Yelenovka on August 10, the DPR Emergencies Ministry press service reported on Tuesday.
“On August 10, the Yelenovka crossing point was open for entering and exiting the DPR from 09:00 to 18:00,” the press service said. “Six cars and 141 people entered the DPR, and 12 cars and 120 people left the Republic for Ukraine.”
The visitors to the DPR who arrive from Ukraine have to go into mandatory observation for at least two weeks. It is free of charge.
Reports on Monday said that the Yelenovka crossing point operated on August 10. Ukraine, too, opened its counterpart crossing point to traffic.
There are four crossing point on the contact line between the DPR and Ukraine-held territory in Donbass: Gorlovka-Mayorskoye, Yelenovka-Novotroitskoye, Alexandrovka-Maryinka and Oktyabr-Gnutovo. All the crossing points suspended operation in March as part of COVID-19 lockdown measures. Later on, the Yelenovka-Novotroitskoye humanitarian corridor was opened. It operates twice a week.*jk
