Donetsk, Sep 9 - DAN. The inter-departmental Commission for the search for missing persons has resumed the exhumation in Snezhnoye, Donetsk People’s Republic ombudswoman, Commission chair Darya Morozova told the Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.
“The next stage to retrieve remains of missing persons from a mass grave in the Ovsyanoye cemetery has begun,” Morozova said.
The work on exhuming the bodies in the cemetery was launched in mid-August. The remains of 19 people have been extracted. This time, experts plan to retrieve about 30 bodies that are supposedly buried there. The works are estimated to last about two days.
The inter-departmental Commission on the search for missing persons and burial sites and bodies (remains) of the war victims in Donbass armed conflict zones was set up in early August. It includes DPR Head Administration officials, prosecutors and representatives of the Interior Ministry, Emergencies Ministry, State Security Ministry and other government bodies. The Commission is led by DPR ombudswoman Darya Morozova.*jk
