Donetsk, Aug 6 – DAN. New batch of 90,000 Russian Sputnik Light vaccines is expected in the DPR on Monday, August 9, said acting Minister of Health Alexander Oprischenko.

"We expect the next batch of nearly 90,000 Russian Sputnik Light vaccines on August 9, the Health Ministry plans to add new inoculation centers," he said.

Sputnik Light jabs are available in the DPR since late July.

Sputnik Light is a single dose COVID-19 vaccine developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology. It consists of the first dose of the Sputnik V vaccine, which is based on the Ad26 vector.

The single dose Sputnik Light vaccine demonstrated 79.4% efficacy according to analyzed data taken from 28 days after the injection was administered as part of Russia’s mass vaccination program between 5 December 2020 and 15 April 2021.

As of May 5, 2021, more than 20 million people globally have received their first shot of Sputnik V. *ot
