Donetsk, Jun 30 – DAN. Almost 50 thousand DPR residents have made appointments to get an anti-COVID vaccine jab, the DPR Ministry of Health said.

"Nearly 50,000 DPR residents are registered to receive vaccine shots."

Sputnik V anti-COVID vaccine rollout began in the DPR on February 1. Registration for appointments began on the same day both in medical centers an online on the Health Ministry website.

Russia began to develop a vaccine in summer 2020. It was registered on August 11, becoming the first anti-COVID-19 vaccine in the world.

The vaccine, developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, was named Sputnik V.

The first batch of Sputnik V vaccine arrived in the DPR on January 30. *ot
