Nearly 120 thousand people across DPR join New Year festivities

Donetsk, Jan 3 – DAN. Nearly 120 thousand people took part in the New Year celebrations across the DPR, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

"Since December 31 to January 1 New Year celebrations took place across the DPR, about 120 thousand people took part in festivities," the press statement said.

The ministry said about a 1,000 policemen were on duty to provide security, as well as military police and the Ministry of Emergencies special task forces. Overall 285 foot and vehicle patrols were dispatched to ensure public order.

"No violations of public order were recorded," the ministry said.

Several thousand people gathered in the center of Donetsk, where the main Christmas Tree was installed, on the New Year Eve. *ot
