Donetsk, May 8 — DAN. Some 30 bikers and 20 cars joined the rally to visit military heritage sites in the Donetsk People’s Republic in the action organized by the Roads of Memory — Donbass social movement, Novorossiya ROCKS Radio editor-in-chief Ed Pokrov told the Donetsk News Agency on Monday.
The participants included motor clubs Steppe Dogs MFC, Hard Moto Riders MCC and free bikers, said Pokrov who was a special guest of the event. The column started on Monday morning from the Mariupol junction in Donetsk to run through Makeyevka, Khartsyzsk, Zugres, Shakhtyorsk, Torez and Snezhnoye. The destination was the legendary Saur-Mogila war memorial.
The activists stopped in each town to lay flowers at monuments to fallen soliders and leave a a particle of the eternal flame brought from the Military Glory Hall on Mamayev Kurgan (Hill) in Stalingrad (Volgograd).
Earlier reports said that “Memory Fire” was delivered from the Tomb of Unknown Soldiers in Moscow to DPR towns in the runup to Victory Day on May 9. *jk
