Donetsk, Mar 15 - DAN. Fragments of the Tochka-U missile which was shot down over Donetsk on Monday, caused damage to more than a dozen buildings and shops as well as gas pipes, the Donetsk People’s Republic Emergencies Ministry reported.
“On March 14, fragments of the intercepted missile hit 15 buildings and 56 cars in the DPR capital’s Artyom and Universitetskaya Streets, Pushkin Boulevard and Teatralny Avenue,” the report said. The emergency services recorded damage to the Krupskaya Library, an art museum, a nursery school, a bank, a dozen of shops, a cafe and residential buildings.
Earlier reports said that Ukrainian gunmen fired a Tochka-U missile which was shot down over Donetsk on Monday. Missile fragments showered busy city streets killing 20 civilians, mostly pensioners queuing at a bank branch and mini-bus and car passengers, and wounding another 30.
The DPR Head announced March 15 a day of mourning for the victims.*jk
