Donetsk, Feb 4 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic parliament deputy Kirill Makarov was elected head of the Young Republic social organisation at its congress on Monday.

Young Republic delegates met at the Shakhtar Plaza Hotel. Makarov was nominated by outgoing Young Republic leader Nikita Kiosev who had headed the organisation since July 2016. All the 298 delegates supported the nomination.

“I congratulate Kirill Makarov on being elected as head of the Young Republic organiation,” Kiosev said.

Earlier Makarov was head of the Young Republic grassroot at the Donetsk National University. He won a seat in the Republic’s top legislative body in the November 2018 election as a Donetsk Republic social movement candidate on the republican list.

Young Republic is a youth branch of Donetsk Republic social movement, with more than 40 local offices in 35 towns and districts across the country.*jk
