Donetsk, Sep 2 - DAN. Residents of the Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Kharkov and Kiev regions asked the United Donbass Foundation social organization for financial assistance, the Foundation’s press service told the Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.

“Earlier, we had no opportunity to respond to requests from the whole of Ukraine; however, the Foundation has been keeping track of such requests. Now that the humanitarian programme has been expanded we expect an increase in requests for assistance from Russian-speaking residents of Ukraine,” the press service said. “For example, preparations are underway to review documents submitted by residents of the Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Kharkov and Kiev regions and provide financial assistance they need for treatment and rehabilitation.”

As of now, a new group was added to the citizens eligible for assistance from the Foundation. It includes Russian-speaking residents of Ukraine or their relatives who are subject to discrimination by issues related to culture, Russian language or support of the Russian World ideas in Ukraine, who are involved or were involved in legal proceedings.

The Donetsk People’s Republic set up the United Donbass Foundation in March 2017 as part of the Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme. The objective is to help people in a difficult situation. Earlier reports said that the Foundation expanded its operation as the humanitarian programme embraced all regions of Ukraine.*jk
