Donetsk, Jun 2 – DAN. Kiev forces opened fire on paper lanterns released to the sky by Donbass residents to commemorate children killed in the Donbass war within the framework of the international campaign Angels, said the leader of public organization Young Republic Nikita Kiosev.
"The commemorative occasion was marred by Ukrainian forces shooting at the paper lanterns, mocking values of humanity, morality and honor. They saw the lanterns rising into the sky in the area of the Volvo Center in northern Donetsk and opened machine guns fire on them."
Ukrainian side earlier agreed to obseve a comprehensive ceasefire in effect from June 1, midnight. They were also warned about the commemorative event and had to observe the truce.
"Kiev's executors have again revealed their cynical and anti-human nature. Having once killed those children they fire at them again," Kiosev said.
In Donetsk, people launched hundreds of paper lanterns into the sky to commemorate the children killed in the Donbass war. Makeyevka, Gorlovka, Dokuchaevsk and other towns organized similar events. Residents of Kiev-controlled territories were expected to participate as well. *ot
