Donetsk, Sep 5 - DAN. DPR law-enforcement bodies investigating the explosion in Donetsk’s Kalininsky district are examining the remotely controlled bomb version, a well-informed source told the Donetsk News Agency.
“The bomb planted near the Donetsk cinema house might have been set off by remote control,” the officer said. The investigators are following this lead.
The explosive device was planted in the bushes by the cinema, he added. It largely consisted of plastic parts. Investigators found fragments of batteries and microchip which were used to trigger the explosion.
The blast was intended to make noise rather than hurt anyone. The word “mine” was written on it.
“A public utility employee found an unknown object near the non-operating cinema house Donetsk and called police. The explosion occurred as a police officer was approaching the place,” an eye-witness told earlier the Donetsk News Agency.
A police officer was lightly wounded in the blast at a non-operating cinema house in Donetsk’s Kalininsky district at around 14:00 on Thursday. A school and a kindergarten are in close proximity to the scene of the incident.*jk
